How much are Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles worth?
KrisFlyer carries one of the higher reference values we hold, and it is a Star Alliance programme. Our data on it is otherwise thin: no verified transfer route in, and no confirmed expiry policy.
2.54¢ current reference value per mile, from AwardWallet Verified Aug 2026
What we can tell you
The reference value at the top of this page comes from AwardWallet, built from a large sample of real award bookings, and sits toward the upper end of the eleven programmes we cover.
KrisFlyer is a Star Alliance member, which is the mechanism by which a programme can book flights on other member airlines. What that does not tell you is whether your points can reach KrisFlyer, or whether award space exists on any particular flight - see how partner awards work for why those are separate questions.
What we have not confirmed
We hold no verified transfer route into KrisFlyer from any of the six bank currencies we cover. KrisFlyer is a well-known transfer destination and we would expect routes to exist; their absence here reflects our verification work.
We have also not confirmed the expiry policy. KrisFlyer has historically operated an expiry rule that behaves differently from the activity-based rules common elsewhere, which is precisely why we are not going to describe it from memory. If expiry matters to your plans, read the official page linked below.
Judging a redemption without our data
The cents-per-point calculation needs only three inputs from the booking in front of you: the cash fare you would genuinely have paid, the miles the award costs, and the cash fees on the award ticket.
None of those depend on our partner coverage. So even with the gaps above, you can get a real answer about a real redemption here - which is usually the question that actually matters.
A worked example
Suppose a long-haul fare is selling for $1,450 and an award is 55,000 miles plus $96 in taxes.
($1,450.00 cash − $96.00 award fees) ÷ 55,000 points × 100 = 2.46 cents per point
A strong result, and the shape of redemption that keeps this programme's average high. As always the load-bearing assumption is the cash fare: if you would have flown a cheaper option, compare against that instead.
Against the current reference value of 2.54 cents, that is about 97% of typical — what we label around typical value. Those bands are our own editorial rules, not an industry standard.
How this programme prices awards
We have not verified this Airlines rarely state their award pricing model in writing, and we are not going to record an inference as a sourced fact. Whether Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer prices awards from a chart or against the cash fare is something you can test yourself: price the same route at several different cash fares and see whether the miles price moves with them. Our explainer covers what each model means for your balance.
Do these miles expire?
KrisFlyer miles expire three years after the month in which they were earned, or one year for miles received from contests. PPS Club members' valid KrisFlyer miles generally do not expire while they remain PPS Club members, except for certain promotional miles whose terms provide otherwise. Miles due to expire for the first time can be extended for a fee: six months for KrisFlyer members, one year for Elite Silver and Elite Gold.

Verified Sep 2026Getting miles into this programme
We have no verified transfer route from any bank currency we cover into Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer. That may mean none exists, or that we have not confirmed one yet. It does not mean the programme is unreachable — you may still be able to book its flights using a partner programme's miles. Check whether a path exists before planning around one.
Find the seat before you transfer Transfers are one-way. Confirm the award you want is bookable in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer first, then move the points, then book.
Good and poor uses
Broad principles, not promises about specific inventory. What is actually available on your dates is something only the booking programme can tell you.
Generally works well
- Long-haul and premium-cabin redemptions, where the cash fare is high relative to the miles price.
- Redemptions you have priced yourself, including the cash fees.
Usually poor value
- Planning a transfer based on a partner list from an unofficial source.
- Assuming an expiry rule we have not confirmed - this programme's has historically been unusual.
- Valuing an award against a fare you would never have paid.
Questions people ask
Which bank points transfer to KrisFlyer?
We hold no verified route from any of the six currencies we cover. That reflects outstanding verification work on our side rather than a claim about the programme.
Do KrisFlyer miles expire?
We have not confirmed the current policy from an official source, so we will not state it. This programme's expiry rule has historically differed from the activity-based rules used elsewhere, which is a reason to read the official page rather than assume.
Can I book Star Alliance partners with KrisFlyer miles?
Alliance membership makes partner bookings possible in general, but each programme sets its own rules, pricing and partner access, and we have not verified KrisFlyer's. Award space released to partners is also a smaller pool than the operating airline sells its own members.
Can I judge a redemption without your partner data?
Yes. The redemption value calculator needs only the cash fare, the miles required and the award fees.

Things we have deliberately not claimed here, because we have not confirmed them:
- Any transfer route into KrisFlyer - we hold none.
- The mileage expiry policy, which we believe differs from the common activity-based model but have not confirmed.
- Partner airlines bookable with KrisFlyer miles and their pricing.
- How the programme prices awards.
